As the good weather is here, it had to happen

A few years ago I completely replaced my roof wiring/hydraulic loom.
Yesterday it failed!!
Checked fault codes to find A68B, which is the left side rear shell microswitch. Ordered it from Sytner BMW in Nottingham, only £28 and would be available today, so all good there.
Got home from work at lunchtime today, having picked it up on the way, and got straight to work.

After removing the rear roof shell it turned out not to be the microswitch, but the wire leading up to it had got trapped. Now on Wednesday this week tge roof headlining in the rear shell fell off as tge roof was starting it's movement. This must have pushed the part of the loom over just enough to trap and break the wire.
Anyway, fortunately, I'd kept the original old loom so could Bell it out to find out where it all went and eventually cup the old section out and swap it over.

Anyway 3 hours later and its all done and fully back together and all tidied away.
So it wasn't a deteriorated loom but a pure accident! Oh well, things happen, happy bunny again now  :driving:

How many roofs, I wonder, aren't used in winter? And then, when decent weather comes, they bust?

Well to be honest I've been using mine for the last couple of months, and I do use mine over the winter if I feel I want to. I agree though, I think it happens a lot.
