Trying to avoid dinks often puts you in a place that is more exposed.

Best to just not try double guess what other idiots will do!

Or maybe he loves his car as much as you do yours, He takes a look at your car and thinks, now there is a guy who, like me, doesnt want door dinks, so if i park right next to him I know my drivers door wont get a dink and I know i wont put any in his, Bascally oneside of each car is safe. Or do I just think to kindly of others :?

Well if i 'have' to park next to someone, i do make a point of picking decent cars to park next to, so Nosa, that makes sence, though as Rudd says, I do always pick corner spots too :poke:

Also I always avoid parking next to cars with child seats, you just know that doors gonna get swung right open!

Really bugs the girlfriend driving round car parks looking for that 'perfect' space

+1 I do exactly the same.

I won't park next to people carriers, cars that have child seats in the back, cars that aren't looked after, cars that are just carelessly thrown into a space, and I try to find an end space. And even then I will carry on driving around to find the biggest space next to a 'normal' car.
Thinking about it, there's no wonder I'm always driving around car parks for an hour looking for a good space

And you can guarantee that when I come back to my car there is always a twatting people carrier parked next to me leaving me 2 inches to get in my car. :headbang:

I really do not understand why people park next to you in an empty car park though. I just don't know what goes through their minds. Complete idiots.

This thread has restored my sanity. Was starting to think my neurotic parking tendencies were getting out of hand but now I know I'm not the only one :D

nice to know Im among like minded individuals - drives mrs gannet crazy me driving round and round looking for the 'best' spot available

You should try working for a supermarket chain like me. Then you have to park in one evey day! Lessons learnt always park next to a curb on one side. Never park next to a 3 door car. and never park next to the enterance or a trolley bay, plus everything else mentioned above. :)

This was a very special day for me.

:D

Just noticed, some of us like to take pictures of our cars in empty car parks. How sad is that?!

this is the best reason not to go shopping, just drop your wife/partner off and pick them up in 2 hours time :)

Nargh the mx5 was a shed, and obviously driven by a complete t*#t
If he was doing it to wind me up, it worked....

gookah, one mistake you made was that you didnt park 4 spaces closer, next to the kerb. i always park in a spot like that so at least one side cant be parked against and dinged.

i wish i could catch people in the process of dinging the car :headbang:

Nosa is right, I often look at the condition of the car i park next to. If it looks nice then i park next to it, if it looks like a scrappage scheme wreck i steer clear. I also always try to park at the end of a row so that my car can only get dented on one side.

One answer to this problem. Hang around and wait for the culprit. Then look out for him in the supermarket next time and follow him around with your trolly closely boxing him in against the frozen veg section.

I always go to work early (around 08:20) and get the best parking space in the office carpark. :D

Always used to park by the kerb,.... but not now I have those expensive wheels...... that would hurt even more.
