Arrowspeed N1000 tyres again or something else

Hi,

I currently have Arrowspeed N1000 all round. Which I am told are made by Goodyear to a previous design they sold and that arrowspeed is really a brand made for kwikfit only.

Not sure if I should replace them with the same, as they are uber cheap, or go with something else.

When I had my Z8 I used Goodyear F1 GSD3 (the one with the V pattern all round) and they were superb in wet conditions. I dont quite expect the same obvious difference in the Z4, plus the GSD3 seems to be phased out.

I think that the premium brands may offer extra performance, but to what degree you would really notice I dont know.

Plus he arrowspeed is so cheap you could replace them at 2mm rather than 1.6mm and still save a fortune.

I do drive in a spirited way and get through reads in less than 10k.

What engine is in your zed? The main time you'll notice a performance tyre is when you start pushing towards the limit.

I wouldnt be comfortable putting 200bhp+ through a budget tyre, as I've had budget tyres on previous cars, and they were terrible in the wet. Dry grip was ok, but wet grip was horrendous. Remember that the tyre is the only contact your car has with the road

Falken 452s are more expensive (although not that much), but the majority of forum members really rate them. Worth a look?

I've just fitted Kumho ku37s and they seem great all-round, no problems in the wet or when pushing on. I only bought them because they were £30 a pair cheaper than my usual Falken FK452s and I can't tell any difference.

If you drive in a "spirited manner" I would agree with adamski - avoid the budget tyres. You're just asking for trouble when things get close to the limit....

you don't say what size tyres you use or what average mileage you cover in a year ? all relevant to tyre choice :?

225/40/18 and 255/35/18 with 15k + a year.
