Armrest cup holder?

Hi guys,

I've just bought an E89 with the phone cradle in the arm rest and a storage compartment next to it. I didn't check to see if it had cup holders and now I'm really missing not having one. I've seen pictures of the side storage compartment with cup holders instead of an empty space, is it possible to retro-fit these?

Cheers

Matt

Maybe but they are not very good......I don't like using mine, as putting them in isn't a smooth operation, and you're likely to be awkward taking it in and out, due to the angle of where it's placed....

Indeed, they're only really usable when the car is stationary as you'll hit them with your arm when driving. I'd look at another alternative TBH. I have them, never used them for fear of knocking the drinks over, right into the phone that sits next to it!

If you need brake hard there is a risk whatever is in them will dislodge and hit the lcd display. This nearly hsppened to me so I don't really use them anymore.

Weird - I thought the e89 came with 'plug-in' cupholders that slot into a wee slot on the transmission tunnel... Or is that a stupidly expensive option nobody buys ?

USA Market.

I've used mine while driving, not ideal design but do-able.

Wouldn't like to sit next to you lot at dinner, elbows out everywhere! :D

It's a bizarre design. My MR2 had them in front of the shifter, which was much more convenient, like they are in the F20.

I do use the cup holders, the only challenge is trying to put my coffee if back in whilst I'm driving.

But location aside, they do work and I've never had anything in there come loose and spill.
