What do you think about this?

Just got this leaflet and a small sachet through in the latest edition of EVO.

Im abit sceptical to be honest, however it does sound abit different.

Apparently it has no carnauba wax or silicones in which typicaly attract dust and dirt. This is supposed to repel it? And, reactivates after every wash.... realy?

I think what I will do is do a half and half on my cars bonnet, one side carnauba wax other ArmourAll and report back.

Funny you should bring this up,i have just bought some to shine up the paint on a wee van I have bought and was that impressed that I have now put several coats on my Z4MR and my wifes 3 series coupe    .I own various tubs of wax ranging from collinite all the way up to a tub of Swissvax Best Of Show at £160 and for ease of use and durability I don't think there is much to beat it.
It is literally wipe on wipe off and the beading is incredible also it seems to last a long time on the paint.
I bought mine on fleabay and got the 500ml bottle, foam applicator and a microfiber cloth for £13 inc delivery BARGAIN :D :D .
I have also put some on the wheels as well and it seems to work very well on them as well.
I was at the national meet and when I got home after 3 days of sometimes quite spirited drives my car was well bug splattered but a good water rinse and snow foam then 2 bucket wash and all the bugs were gone no problem.
I will certainly be getting another bottle when this runs out.

Okay, so I guess you still need to polish first, or use some PB Black Hole, then replace wax with this ? The idea of shaving 45mins to an hour off my car cleaning time is very attractive indeed...

I've seen various reviews on this and it does look good. I'm sticking with the AB Abysss personally as it does all the above ++. Plus the tub will last years.

Just thought I would give this a wee bump.
Honestly for less than £16 delivered you cant go wrong, its ideal for a hard wearing winter protection.

I've used the Shield for alloys a while back in all honesty it was poor and didn't really perform any better than a good wax. I think its a bit of a hype.

Tim.

Havent tried the alloy sealant but the wax is in my opinion as good if not better than some waxes that cost a lot more than the Shield.

Waxed Mrs D6GMB'S 3 series coupe yesterday and the beading on it is just as good as the beading pics that Maniac posted.
For the price I think it is very good value and ideal for some very long lasting winter protection.

If the wax is cheap might give it a go :)

Used the wheel wax on both the cars a few weeks ago, looks like its working  Just hosed of the dust no need for wheel brush. Bought some of the wax the other day, so will give it a try this week as i'am off work for 3weeks :D

I have to say, I was sceptical at first using the Armourall Sheild wax, as it was £9.99 and had very bold claims!

After 6 washes this is still the result, i'm extremely impressed. It has to be one of the best products I have used for the money and I have used a few, lol !!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Give it a go. :)

Repelling water and dirt is one thing, protecting the paint is another. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it's a hydrophobic surfactant to repel water etc., but it won't necessarily seal and protect the paint like a layer of wax. Worth looking in to it more, good results for such an easy application.

Had some Amazon vouchers gathering dust so thought I'd give the Shield Wax a try. Really impressed.

It takes about 15 minutes to apply a coat to the entire car and does a great job of keeping road muck off. I've done three washes since I prepped the bodywork for winter (clay/SRP hand polish/ArmorAll) and it still looks great, even after a horrendous drive yesterday through what can only be described as an apocalyptic sh!tstorm, blown from the arse of Satan himself:

So visually, it seems to do the job (at least on Silver Grey, which admittedly is quite forgiving).

In terms of function... I don't have any experience of proper detailing, but I know that products like SRP can leave you with a false sense of the condition of your paintwork due to the amount of filler they contain. I'd also be interested to learn more re. surfactant vs. sealant, as MHZ4C mentions above, but the paint certainly takes on that silky feeling you get from properly clayed and waxed bodywork. One thing that is a bit weird at the moment is that the beading stays on the car for ages - up to a couple of days after it rains, which makes it look a bit silly parked alongside others which are totally dry. :?

Snake Oli....! :P Good wax does just as good

I'd agree, were it not cheaper than a lot of waxes! And wax can be quite difficult to apply sometimes - this is ridiculously easy, especially if you've seen Karate Kid.
