Ariel & kidney grills

A stubby Ariel is what most people get. Lots of generics about, please post a link of one that you try as I’ll be looking to get one soon too.

Absolutely agree. Be sure to keep the original fishing rod. Those stumby wee things look cr/p. IMHO.

The stubby/whippy aerial debate usually lasts a few pages!

I don't have either, I got something in-between. :D

The 3 litres are the only ones that had Kidney grilles with silver slats, every other model in the range had black slats.

I suppose the silver ones might look OK on silver cars, but I bought a pair with black slats on here for my blue 3.0Si.

I believe that is known as a 'whubby'. Neither summat nor owt.

+1 for Team Stubby.

For the grilles I'd agree with Mr. Tidy. Silver slats came with my black 3.0si and I opted to swap them out for some matte black ones. Makes the front end look cleaner imo (for a black car especially) You can also get gloss black or a set that have the "M coloring" on 3 of the slats but that will also open up a whole new debate lol

This one from eBay fits a treat and cheap too!

I cut a small notch in the old one where it meets the base a week or so before changing it. I cut it down to the metal nut then sprayed WD40 into it every couple of days and when I came to unscrew it it came off first time and easily too. If you're not careful you snap it at the thread and then you'll need the whole base as well.

^ this is exactly what happened to me. Snapped when trying to remove the original so definitely heed this advice
