5 days of ownership and I've a niggling little paint chip on the drivers side door - the sort of mark you get when you open a door door fast/hard onto a nearby brick wall.

Thing is, I've been opening my door VERY carefully and nowhere near any walls. I certainly didn't notice it when i picked the car up and I was VERY careful checking it.

So, two questions for you all really: can this sort of damage occur from regular driving (stone chips, anyone?) and also do you think a minor paint repair like this would cost much?

Sad to say this is cars i have marks on my Z wheels as if i have hit a spoke on a kerb but she has never been parked next to a kerb in 3 years :o and then you get niks on the paint :x      hate these got a couple need doing really need to stop spending all my dosh on new lenses and put some into my Z try speaking to local bodyshops they may recomend a good mobile guy or do it themselves but it wont cost a bundle

Usually a spot repair specialist can do the type of thing you've mentioned for less than £100.

My Mrs scratched a long score in her door a couple of years back, and managed to get it sorted for £90.

Chips Away do a reasonable job. Try googling

Order a Chipex kit, I'm quite impressed with mine so far, hoping to apply it to more of my bodywork soon!
