Area Z4s Not Selling Well at the Moment?

So it seems some people are struggling to sell at the moment.

Bit worrying as i am looking to buy one soon. I was hoping if i found a nice one, it wouldnt be too hard to shift on when the time came, but lovely cars seem to be struggling to sell.

Hard to know what to do. Heart says buy one, head say is it sensible...

I guess then i have the ability to be fussy then as a buyer. Im still not sure if i should go the delaer with warranty route to second hand private sale.
 
Always heart. Think about it forever never buy anything. You will inevitably make a loss its a part of the love.
 
yeah guess if i want one, i will just have to swallow the costs. Its never nice knowing your going to be at a loss, you just expect it a bit...
 
As far as mc's are concerned , having bought one 2 weeks ago they are thin on the ground especially low mileage ones , in fact only 2 available so little choice. M coupes are rare !

Well thats it, i am looking at Ms, but as above there are some on here that look great and the owners are struggling.

Maybe its the low mileage part as you suggested thats the problem.

Im still not sure what mileage i should be aiming for. Trouble is i do about 15k a year, so if i brought one with 50k on, it would 80k on when i came to sell it, if not more...
 
Almost any performance car/luxury car is a bargain to buy, hard to sell. sign of the times. The weather hasn't helped convertibles sell this summer either. You buy with your heart and enjoy the car.

Depreciation on a E85/86 Z4 is peanuts now as they are so old. If you're buying an E89 new then eye watering depreciation is to be expected :cry:
 
Glad I bought an mc as even in the rain its like being cocooned in a comfy enviroment with all the electronic aids , just have to put a/c on if windows are closed at moment .
 
CornishRob, have a look at skillick's in buy and sell - great spec, great condition car (I have seen it), has a full BMW warranty that can be transferred, and is at a price that is nothing short of steal-of-the-century :thumbsup:
 
I agree, she would be perfect apart from 2 things at present. One is my side, i still need to sell my 90 and im stuck offshore at the moment. I plan to do this at end of July.

Also for me, it has too many miles. In 1-2 years, i could have put 30k on it which would leave it at 80K+.

It does look a lovely motor for someone who does less miles though
 
Car's cost you to buy or sell just get on with it!! if you want it enjoy it money doe's not come in, you only live once! :thumbsup:

Alright, give me a chance. Not many about to view on the north sea!

Got some holiday in August so will try and sell the Landy before then look in my leave. Hoping to have one by the end of August if i can find the right one
 
If you can afford to buy and maintain the car go for it i know it can be costly with tyres,tax etc but its worth it. Everytime i take the car for a drive open up the throttle is puts such a big smile on my face especially when i turn off the traction and get the rear end alive. Its been two months since ive had the car i wasn't planning to mod the car but thats gone out the window if everything goes well i should be getting a new set of alloys and kw suspension. :D
 
I sold mine in 40 mins.

20 months of ownership cost me £400 in depreciation....

running costs were....*cough* higher...

£900 tyres
£750 service
£190 alignment
£100 brake service
£1300 tax!!!!!
£700 insurance
£1700 fuel

£££££££ polishing.....

That means it cost me £1 per mile for each and every one of the 6k miles i did in it....bloody hell!

I took mine out for a drive yesterday evening as it was dry, first time she's been taken out properly since May. I will be sad to see her go as she puts a grin on my face everytime, but as I've done the grand total of 800 miles since she was MOT'd at the start of April, I'm struggling to justify to SWMBO to keep her!!

Actually had a call about mine last night after my posts yesterday, guy seemed keen and wanted to come and view this evening, now just waiting for him to confirm, so fingers crossed.

If I didn't want a red one, and if I had the b@lls to be completely selfish and deny my family the benefit of my hard work and their patience with all that goes with that (for the second time in a year...), I'd have it in a heartbeat. It's frighteningly close to what I paid for mine in September last year :o

Really hope you sell - GLWTS as Andysat would say :wink:

A car like a Z4M you buy for the fun, the love and the fact that you are car enthusiast. Cars are never a good investment and you will always lose money when you sell it back..! The most money you lose is when you buy a brand new car and sell it two years later. When selling a Z4M it will be hard to find a similar car that gives the same level of performance and driving thrills for that kind of money. I also don't understand why people worry so much about the resale value on an already used car. Also this is only an issue if you are selling the car. The longer you keep a Z4M, the longer you will enjoy it and the longer the resale value is not important. My Z4M is my second fun car; I love it and if it was up to me I would never sell it. So I don't really care what it's worth right know on the market, for me it's worth a lot because of the fun I get from it.
You want something that worth more then when you bought it....buy a house :wink: When you buy a Z4M, don't keep it in the garage to keep the mileage low... No; drive it a lot and enjoy it as much as you can, then you get the most fun out of your car money.
 
It's not just Z4s, and not just recently

I couldn't give my 123d coupe away 2 years ago, despite it having £8k of options. I advertised it for 2 months and not one inquiry. I eventually PXed it for a grand more than i was advertising it for privately, and then they whacked another 4k on it on the forecourt. It sold quite quickly. Conclusion = people really really want a dealer warranty (!?)

(and/or they cant get loans/finance outside of a dealership, they can't "just put it on the mortgage" anymore, and don't have the savings)

(bought that car with my head, lost a lot more on that one than the z4m as far as depreciation goes)
