Are Z4M headlights sealed?

I have a little problem if they are supposed to be... They are Xenon so I assumed they would be. I have BMW warranty so would like to get them sorted if they are. Any help would be great.

From my understanding the lights units / casing is the same whether be from a prefacelift, facelift, M, halogen or xenon

I'm guessing if there is no damage to the casing then the water is coming through the back plate, by which the membrane lining has perished.

A few posts on this, but in short a hair dryer job and new membrane will resolve this

Not sure on the warranty

If not apparently you can try removing the membrane and flipping it around so that the exposed section is newer. Or buy a new backcase for smallish money

I think this happens on most Z's but needs to be resolved as the water will breakdown the chrome finish inside the light

Well ye I thought so when I bought it. The interior is a slightly bronze colour like in the pic.

Try for warranty, however they will probably just dry them out and put new backs on - I got two new ones for my car, only cost £24 incl. VAT for both. Hot hair dryer as ranski says - hot for about 10 or 15 mins, then I gave it a little cool to blow any moisture filled air out. Job done

I believe excessive moisture is a warranty claim. Mild misting not so.
I'd make first point to chase BMW and see

I use a light coating of Vaseline on the rear cover seals too. Not saying it's essential but definitely can't do any harm.

Mmm. Actually it can as Vaseline dissolves seals rubbers seals and similar...

Yeah, the clear plastic gets really hot, and I could have sworn it was a bit soft when I pushed it. I just kept the hair dryer moving, and stuck it in different parts of the housing too.

Mist in the headlights is not right, and as said above can corrode and kill the whole unit.
