Sorry for the topic title but it comes from an amusing sketch that Eddie Izzard does and the fact that I've nicknamed my car Geoff on account of the reg starting GF07.
I picked up my coupe finally today. I love this car! I bought it from an Aston Martin dealership (some very drool worthy cars there including the DB5 as driven by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale when he stays at the hotel) and got a really good deal. The car was originally specced by BMW so is fairly fully loaded.
Spec -
'07 Coupe Sport in Montego Blue
Individual anthracite/grey (or silver grey?) interior
Sun protection glass
Professional Nav + Bluetooth prep. There is BMW assist on the screen but no idea if its actually there
6 cd changer
Xenons
Heated seats
Automatic lights etc, remote windows, folding mirrors
No pdc or storage nets but I can live without those.
They also have paid for 6 months tax, done it's first mot and given me a full year top cover warranty f.o.c.
There's a few minor stone chips/ scratches but most will machine polish out. One problem which is worrying me which wasn't apparent during the test drive is the brakes. Firm braking usually from higher speeds results in significant wobble. It's not abs kicking in, it feels wrong but does stop ok. I have read about brake judder so don't know if it's that. There are 11 days left of BMW original warranty so I might get them to check it out. Would it be a chargeable thing if it's the discs that need replacing as they could deem it wear and tear? The car had a brake fluid service in July last year and has only done 7k miles since then. I did notice after getting out of the car a fairly unpleasant smell from the brakes. It's different to the normal hot brake smell.
