Are there any cats further back than the manifold?

Sorry, didn't know what model you had, and (stupidly) assumed the non-///Ms would have similar systems

Anyway, just looked at RealOEM/BMWFans again, and it looks like the configs change throughout the range. Although the details below are only according to the diagrams/part descriptions of course.

• The 2.0 has 2 manifold cats & 1 centre cat.
  
  The 2.2 has 2 manifold cats & 2 centre cats.
  
  The 2.5 N52 (non-EU version) has 2 manifold cats & 2 centre cats.
  The 2.5 N52 (UK) has 2 manifold cats only.
  
  The 2.5 M54 (US) has 2 manifold cats only.
  The 2.5 M54 (EU) has 2 manifold cats & 2 centre cats.
  
  The 2.5si N52 (UK) has 2 manifold cats only.
  
  The 3.0 N52 (US) has 2 manifold cats only.
  
  The 3.0 M54 (US) has 2 manifold cats only.
  The 3.0 M54 (UK) has 2 manifold cats & 2 centre cats.
  
  The 3.0si N52 (US) has 2 manifold cats & 2 centre cats.
  The 3.0si N52 (UK) has 2 manifold cats only.
  
  The 3.2 S54 (US) has 2 manifold cats & 2 centre cats.
