Are there 2 types of rocker gasket for facelift 2.0i engines?

I have a 2008 2.0i and when I 1st got the car 2 years ago I wanted to replace the rocker cover gasket as it needed doing, my garage ordered a replacement and it didn't fit, rang up and got a 2nd sent and that still didn't fit. So we cut our loses and reused old gasket with plenty of sealant and was fine up until now.

Ordered a new gasket off eBay (after speaking to somebody on here who replaced there 2.0 facelift and used the same link/part they did) and have had the gasket for a month or so and booked it in weekend just gone, same problem again, gasket doesn't fit!!!! This is now the 3rd gasket that doesn't fit and he's waiting for another to be delivered today, is there any reason that anybody knows of?? 2 types of engine codes or something??

That really strange, i changed mine a year or so back with this part from Euro Part -

Belt and braces approach - check the part number on your rocker cover to make sure it's definitely the right part. I've no idea whether they're interchangeable between different models of zed or even other BMW's with the 2 litre engine, but if 3 gaskets don't fit, it's got to be worth checking that the rocker cover is the original one the car was meant to have - your car has been messed around quite a bit in the past, so whilst it's unlikely, I'd check just for peace of mind.

Real OEM suggests there are two versions of the part, it's confusing but looks like an upgraded part 11128655413 replaced 11120035738 with retrospective fitting for all 2.0 models that was introduced in 2007. It may be worth checking part numbers for your VIN with a BMW dealer.
