Are the standard springs made by Eibach?

As per the title really. Did a quick search, but couldn't find anything.

I had my wheels off recently, and noticed that my springs (black in colour) have Eibach logos on them. I bought my car (e86 3.0Si) used, so I was wondering if it's been lowered? I've decoded my VIN, and the build came with the M-Sport suspension. I know that Bilstein do a lot of OEM work, so I don't know if it's just related to that and they're factory parts?

I know from the car's MOT history that the rear springs were replaced due to cracking before I owned it. At the front of the car, it looks like lowering it another 15mm (which is what the Eibach Pro Kit does) would put the tyres inside the wheelarches too - suggesting it might be lowered as you wouldn't be able to steer.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Were all the M-Sport springs Eibach, or have I been driving a lowered car for the past three years without realising? :rofl:
 
no defo not .

There is no eibach markings on OEM springs,

Some Eibachs are black , some are red. The PRO kit for the E46 is black and the Sportline kit for the E46 is red , so someone may have fitted e46 springs to it at some point as they are compatible (phyisically, maybe not dynamically) with the Z4.
 
It's a real minefield when it comes to buying second hand cars as many mods are all but invisible. However, anything not declared is still deemed to be your fault and can affect a claim.

A remap is a good example and although a private sale will usually see that knowledge passed on, when the car goes to trade they hardly ever list all the details. My previous Z4 was first advertised with no mention of things like the Quaife differential and you can't see that either. They only added more info after I rang them up.

Agreed - and we're enthusiasts! What are you supposed to do if you're a regular driver who doesn't even know which wheels are driven?
