Are the headlights sealed

from the various posts about this i'd say the only way is to dremel them open and then stick them back together... unlike a lot of other cars/ bmw which use thermal sealants which melt/ soften upon heating.... the Z4 lights apparently melt before the adhesive does.

Spot on Aquazi. The sealer is more akin to silicone and won't melt with anything available domestically

Dremmel is your friend or a sacrificial pair to use part of (lens from one set, black casing from the other)

Just reading your AE conversion CJ

Very thorough job, I'm toying with the idea of inserting white LEDs as shown below.
Comments welcome (oh no, what have I said)...

Interesting idea. I suppose each to their own on tLED's in lights, so expect differing views, but it could look good (or not so).

Challenge will be, knowing how the silver inner and amber indicator are fitted together, finding a way of fitting the LED's while concealing the feed wires.

I'm sure I have some scrap parts if you need to experiemt

it seems someone has tried to do both http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs7Q612IDVo

I think Angel eyes look great, but don't like the LED's - too Audi.

Personally i dont like it... looks like chrismas lights... however seen similar by fitted by tekcarbon (from the link above) on bimmerzone and they dont look too bad.....

Personally if i were to go LED instead of CCFL then maybe LED rings instead.. so dots around the lens, instead of a continuous light.

 take a look at pawnsacrifice's (or others) AE conversions. Much better than your Halfords inspired chavfest lights.
