Are Textar pads OEM?

I noticed my brake pads have Textar written on them, are these OEM or has someone put aftermarket pads on my Z4M? If aftermarket, are they better or worse than OEM?

I have a brake judder/steering vibration when braking hard which I'm trying to resolve. The discs are fairly new but I'm wondering if the brake pads have played a part.

Dont think theyre oem but ive been using textar epads for years, theyre my pads of choice. Good stopping power, low dust, low fade and seem to last ages.
Sounds like mech issue other than pads/discs if not warped....

I think textar is OEM.
Usually bmw gets their pads from either textar or jurid for their different models.

Interesting. I knew some were jurid but didnt know about textar.
Whats your thoughts on textar remblokken guido? Any experience? Ive had everything from bosch, pagid, jurid and finally settled on the textars for above reasons. Always good to get other opinions...

Bin using textar E pads for four years and had no issues.great for enthusiastic driving.certainly prove their worth in the Alps :driving:

My 135i brembo performance calipers came stock with textar and they are fine.
Maybe for a pure track car a different pad is more suitable, but even for spirited drives in the alps or 175mph drives on the autobahn (where you sometimes have to brake a lot) my stock ones are great.

Textar are a supplier for BMW branded pads and part of the TMD group who also make Pagid and Mintex (and probably others)

Jurid are part of Bendix, ATE are part of Continental Tyres and both are after-market OE quality.

Euro regs require aftermarket road spec pads to perform within 15% of the original, which means some brands trade of initial bite and pedal feel for better fade resistance for example. So any genuine branded pad has to perform very much like original fit, real differences are in quality of manufacture with some cheaper offerings not fitting properly or suffering friction break-up.

I've had the high-ceramic content Textar e-pads for a while and they perform like standard pads and still produce dust, but what there is doesn't seem to stick, presumably because the dust contains less iron and it's the burning iron that 'welds' on to the the rims and sticks.
