OEM brake pads Textar epad?

Little yellow light came on on Friday warning of brake pad thickness, shame it didn't happen earlier as I could have done 'em this weekend
weather was perfect.
I normally change brake pads/discs myself but since car is currently in extended warranty I need OEM pads which
isn't a problem for me as I think they're fine if a little on the dusty side.

A couple of questions for you:

1.Are these from Textar the BMW OEM ones (Eurocarparts have these at £36, partno front 101110136)
2.Do BMW use the Textar E-Pad at all - they're getting on for double the cost of ordinary pads
but would be interested to try them if they cut down on the dust (Eurocarparts, partno front 10111031E)
3.What do BMW use for anti-sieze & brake pad piston contact (copper grease).

Not sure about BMW - Textar, but I have the ATE pads from Eurocarparts and they have performed very well - far better than the EBC Green Stuffs they replaced (after about 6k miles they were binned for poor performance!). Have even used the ATEs on track. They produced less dust than the standard pads too. Did it all at standard OE operating temperatures without any squeaking. It is worth checking but brake pads / disks are consumables and not part of the warranty? So worth asking BMW.

Used copper grease too, bought from a local auto parts outfit, exactly what an indi used previously with BMW pads.

Didn't specifically answer your question, but yes, bought non-BMW saved money and saw better performance too. Hopefully someone will have a proper answer soon.
 
Your OEM warranty won't cover pads anyway as they're consumables.

Unless they 'fail' (crumble or the backing plate falls off) due to a manufacturing fault shortly after purchase you're unlikely to recover anything from the warranty.
 
I recently replaced my worn front pads/discs and they were originals at 38k miles and both were stamped Textar. I replaced them with Textar items from Europarts including the high ceramic content E-pads. Having run them in I'd say the initial bite is at least as good as the originals and the breaking under 'deep load' feels more linear and 'meaty' than OE. No squeals at all having used a bit of copper grease, and a LOT less dust. What there is seems to be lighter and less prone to sticking to the wheel. I understand that a lot of the dust that clings to wheels is bonded on with particles of hot iron from the disc and since E-pads cause less wear to the disc there is less dust.

1. Textar make the OE pad for BMW but it's unlikely to be identical to the retail replacement item, which may actually be superior. But since ALL makes of pad sold in Europe must meet OE spec +/- 15% of performance I can't see it's a warranty busting issue.
2. I don't think BMW fit the E-pad as they have only been available for about 12 months.
3. BMW guides says no lubricant should be used on the calliper slide pins, I used a dab of high temp silicone brake grease on them as I can't see any harm can come other than gathering a bit of dust, and used some copper slip grease on the back of the pads as usual.
