Are prices dopping?

They seem to be. Not long ago when I looked at M40i's it was around £40k minimum, now they're comfortably under £30k.

E89 35is have been pushed down too, £21k gets you ultra low mileage, compared to £26k+ not long ago.

Prices have dropped significantly. I spotted this nearly new M40i the other day as I drove past the dealer and was shocked at the price: https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202309141960180. Admittedly it's only got a wind deflector as optional kit, but that's a huge saving from new. Black on black with no options looks like an ex-lease car.

I looked at that Thundernight car in Edinburgh at the weekend very clean and well priced, they also have a white 30i at £30.750 but again pretty low spec.

Time of year also affecting convertible prices, best time to buy!
Definitely ! I bought mine in December 2022, maybe I should have waited a few weeks, but my car had already dropped 10% through November.
