Are heated seats a must?

Bit like cruise control, though not essential, once had, hard to live without.

Leather is cold in winter so if you are planning on using it even with the top up I can assure you that they are such a lovely comfort to have in your car and in my opinion you will regret not getting them plus when you come to sell the car on it's one of the first options a buyer will want as when we got ours I had the chance of one a year younger without heated seats, my wife said why don't you get it do we really need them! Needless to say when we are out on the north york moors with the hood down on cooler days she is delighted that I stuck to my guns. Wait for one with heated seats : )

Solve both problems and buy a coupe. Doesn't matter then as every time you get in
your body will be warmed up with smugness about buying the more exclusive car.

I use them on the odd occasion, but the wife has hers on all the time, sometimes even in summer!

Infact its almost like her start buttom, she gets in and cranks them to 3!

Kin 'ell - the sh1t we have to deal with in the developed world

My wife - and Wee Bing - stick the seats on 3 as well. I can safely say that my arse is waaaaaaaay to sensitive for that amount of heating. 1 is almost always enough, 2 for a short while if the temperature is below zero.

Until I got my Zed I only experienced heated seat with ex boyfriends.
I have my own now and although not essential they do add that extra je ne sais quoi to my experience

Do you get more quoi the higher you set them ? :P

Before I got my Zed I had a 325MSport Convertible with full Red leather which looked the dogs danglies IMO but... were not heated ...I ran it all year round and trust me..on a cold winters day when you get in and sit on them..regardless of how good your heaters are..that cold goes right through you..It was the main reason I sold it..!!!

When I looked for my Zed the most important option for me was that it had heated seats..what and I mean what...a difference..would never buy another car without heated seats.. now when its cold.. roof down heaters on and seats toastie.. can't beat it..

Your wife sounds like mine!

I have always made sure I've had them in my cars & it's one of the first options I look for, I've always thought if you have leather they should come with heated seats anyway.

got to agree with most people on here. they are a must have. the leather is very cold on those winter mornings or most early mornings all year round. i crank mine to 3 and switch on the heated steering wheel too. once they are toasty enough, i crank them down or turn them off

i would never buy a car with leather seats now unless they are heated

Are heated seats a must.....

No.

I've had two soft tops and driven them daily through the whole year, top down everytime, except in the most heavy rain - even driven through swirling snow - a lovely experience in a car with the roof down...and never had heated seats.

A good coat with a high collar, scarf gloves and a hat - the heater did all the rest

BUT when I come to replace my Zed (with another) heated seats will be on the list of preferred options....

Probably not that helpful but heated seats not essential in my experience - just would be nice to have!

:driving:

Oh yes! Much better when I crank up to level 3. Can hardly feel 1.

My first Zed didn't have them but now wouldn't be without them, especially this time of year when you want the top down.

One very nice optional extra I believed I never needed... nice to be proved wrong at least once...

They were an option unfortunately. If you are going to drive the car all year round, and put the roof down as much as possible, then they are pretty much a 'must have' in my opinion - I wouldn't buy a roadster without them.

Agree word for word.

Otherwise known as +1 :)

Yes they are IMO.

Also it seems 90% of zeds I see for sale have them so no real reason not to get them, it's not like there aren't plenty of zeds to choose from.

Also the resale argument is a good one if you plan to sell privately.

Just been out for a drive in my car and temp out :driving: side showed 7.5deg c ( Over to Helmsley on North York moors ) I don't have heated seats but the top was down all the way and back but I must admit my ears started to get cold , the rest of me was fine :D
