Are E89 drivers less adventurous?

Mines on a great pcp that was available on the last of the 2.3's ,but so far haven't had any thoughts of modding apart from bigger wheels
Things might change when the pcp has run its course ,i want to keep the Z at the moment but who knows in 2 years time :)

There are plenty of E89s out there without satnav for example, but not seen anyone retrofitting it. Must be quite straight forward though, nothing as complicated as on the E85 though.

Or something like a reversing camera, again something I would add if I had a car without it as it is just OEM add-on bits.

The first generation E89 also has the dim halo lights, again - with all the newer model having the bright LEDs I would have expected a few more to venture in that area.

The reversing camera isnt available for the e89, so do you mean use the camera available for the X series cars? I like the reversing camera set up on the new M5...it looks like a top down view.

How would it all be wired though?

The halo's on my e89 are dim in comparison to the newer 3'series also.

There was a guy on here who had heavily moded a white E89 carbon fibre everywhere, upgraded brakes engine mods the works just cant find it.

The systems are the same like on the X5 / M5 etc and I have all those cameras which is great (kerb view etc). There should be no technical reason why it could not be done on an E89 and that is exactly the sort of thing I would do.

So I must be in a super exclusive modified e89 club then :D

as for multi-angle cameras, my spacial awareness is just fine thanks, so whilst being a nice gimmick to blag about to your friends, that's all I think it really is

It is all about the toy value. Standard wheels are perfectly fine as well, but people still upgrade to others.

If you have a navigation screen you might as well have the toys that go on that.

I quite like the iPod integration on the newer models with the album artwork appearing on the screen. Does it make the music sound better? Nope - but just like the toys ...

I wont be doing much to my 35is once i collect it (TOMORROW!! :) ) however i want to get hold of a spare set of mirror covers as i am not convinced by the silver ones.... a bit to.. Audi IMHO

so i will take the existing off and store them and paint up a new set.

I want to fit a roof module it though as i will miss the Gaptech in the E85

Other than the above i cannot think of anything that the car needs fitting to it, however that might change in 1-2 years time when i want new things......

Apart from CarbonFibre mirror caps I dont really want to change anything , but after what hapened to Tim Im glad I didnt actually do that
