Are E89 drivers less adventurous?

As mentioned there is actually very little cosmetically out there, apart from aftermarket alloys, suspension, there is little else. On my shopping list would be replacement carbon mirror caps and diffuser, if BMW produced these I would add them in a heartbeat. I had the BMW carbon bits on my previous 1 Series, mirrors, diffuser, splitters and rear spoiler. It was expensive to buy but the fit and finish was perfect. I've only ever seen the BMW carbon splitters for the E89 and those are for the non M Sport bumper.

The aftermarket carbon mirror cap covers I ordered I never received them :( Still chasing my monies of the thieving seller.

Tim.

I thought it was going to say Are E89 drivers less adventurous........in bed! :poke:

Only suggestion I can think of doing is wrapping all the white ones so they don't look like every second E89 out there! :poke:

Hm not much to add, mine has nearly all the options of factory. And BMW Performance parts are not available for the E89.

And wrapping all black E85's white? :poke:

Ha ha - but if there was a white ///M roadster (aka the unicorn) Adamski would be on heat!

Watch this space folks

I am in the process of doing mine and a lot more than I done to my e86

The problem is so much has gone wrong with the car it's never out of the dealer getting fixed so never had a chance to mod the car.

hopefully Monday sees the car back , all fixed and ready for a good seeing to

I did the speakers in mine during the first week of ownership. - door cards out, rear bulkhead etc.

I had a dabble with retrofiting extended lighting, but got side tracked by buying and renovating a house. I will get back to that soon I guess 8)

Bits of mine all over the garage at the moment, mainly trying to figure out the electrics and audio layout. Whether I'll do anything we'll see depending on how awkward it all is

In the middle of an ODB cut-out while I'm in there too before moving on to do the same in the X1. Don't trust Mr B to do it properly :x

Got an Alpine upgrade kit for my old 1er on the shelf and trying to figure if I can get it to work in the Zeddy as it was fine with the Pro HU in the 1er with a similar speaker setup.

That sounds more like it

Just not seeing enough of this though.

When I did the Satnav retrofit, remember BMW claimed that it was impossible.

As said, I would be working on cameras, lights etc.

I think that i quite heavily modified my e85, but it took a couple of years for me to get round to it.

I do like the 3D body kit with the rowen quad pipe exhaust. But, at the best part of £4-5K its probably never happen.

I would echo that which has already been said. There was plenty of reason to modify the e85 if you wanted a better ride, clutch release, sound, steering and tram lining.

All those boxes have been well and truly ticked with the E89.

I loved my e85 for the 8 years i owned it. it took me all over the UK and Europe and introduced to me so many like minded people who are now friends. Besides, you forgive a car so much when the roof drops!

Dario

PS i wish i had taken this photo of a similar car to mine.

I got that when I did the Alpine thing for my previous X1. Sytner wouldn't sell it to me as they insisted it could not be installed in my X1 cos it had DAB already.

Trainer Swansea were at least decent enought o contact the Motherland and question it but they got the same answer. They however were willing to sell it to me just to see what happened I think

Turns out from what I could see, the only reason why it was incompatible was the DAB unit was sat where the Amp normally went  Moved the DAB unit elsewhere and bingo, fully installed and working :P

Despite how good they look, I'll still be inclined to fit some custom rims and get it lowered

I think we'll see more mods in future

A lot of the new E89's have been done on PCP which means most will hand back after 3 or 4 years. Probably not so much inclination to modify.

This may be a reason not many turn up on meets, even though we know you're out there :poke: :D

Couldn't believe the only one on the Braemar run came from Cumbria...

Good point original guvnor. I thought it was just the 2.0i on PCP? Did they do others on PCP? *wish I'd looked out for that*

Any version is available on PCP, just minus the whopping discount that was offered on the 2.0.

I wouldn't mind a bit of chrome trim just aft of the side indicators as per the Z3, to me just looks like theres something missing.
Would have to be tastefully done a bit minimulist.
Perhaps shaped like half an arrow or barb.
