Are cracked springs easy to spot?

For a non-mechanic?

I was bored last night and jacked up my car to have a look (25k miles ish 56 plate)

I couldn't see anything obvious, but is it something that only an expert can spot?
 
Jacked up they should be fairly easy to spot. Most likely you will see the top inch or 2 of the final coil missing. Somethimes bottom coil.

Most people never see or know it unless they hear a piece fly out or it fails and MOT, so don't worry
 
Sweet Baby Jesus. That's a proper crack!

Thanks for the photo's, it puts my mind at rest. I was worried it was some sort of hairline crack thing.
 
Has anyone who has had eibach springs fitted:

a)Had them crack?

b)Noticed any difference in handling?
