UK car with BMW warranty which is the sold and the new owner ships it to another country - is it possible to transfer the warranty to the new owner in their home country?

Phone BMW Customer Services - they should be able to give you a definitive answer, and, if it is transferable, you could ask for a confirmation email so there wouldn't have any issues later

If this is for the 335 - don't go giving them cash for any any 'excess' payment that they made in error

Cheers Perry. I'll give them a call and find out; without any excess cash payments!

Do you know the best number to call on?

most of my old work Colleagues with the forces based in germany etc had UK purchased cars and the Warrantees were valid in Germany. i only heard of it being a problem when second hand cars were bought with limited Warrantee plans

BMW USA has as standard. A 4yr warranty. When I bought the wife's US spec 2008 328 in 2010 from a US only military BMW dealer here in Germany. BMW Germany would not honor the remaining two years of warranty. So it seems in the case of someone shipping a BMW from the US to Germany will loose out on 2 yrs of warranty. Seems rather chicken s**t to me.
