Arch rolling for wheel clearance

Just had my German MOT (TÜV) and the guy said I need more clearance between rear wheel arches and wheels.
I installed 19 inch Breytons and apparently there's a note on the wheel docs saying you might have to cut the inner plastic and bend the metal arches. The car is also lowered with Eibachs.
Anyone done this? What tools did you use? Does it look clean after? Any other problems result?

The arch is best left to a professional body shop. As for molding the plastic liner i have done this myself at the weekend. I just used a heat gun and a rounded off piece of wood. Its time consuming. I also had to use a soldiering iron to plastic weld a few extra pieces in. Mine turned out ok! If you can get a professional to do it and you can afford it i would recommend that. It was a rotten job to do!!

Ok thanks. So far me and a friend have fixed everything ourselves and want to try this too. Just want to know what tools to use. Is it just by panel beating?
Ps, how do u put pics on the posts??

You can get actual rollers .. A sort of clamp to the hub and then arc around the arch. Patience is a virtue either way to avoid splitting the paint.

Its also possible if you use a block of wood against the arch lip on the outside And a small hammer to gently bend the arch lip back on its self. Just do it a little bit at a time all the way round then back to the start and repeat. The paint on the inside of arch will most probably crack as it wont like being moved/stretched

For the molding i just used a heat gun industrial hairdryer basically. And a rounded of piece of wood to push and move the plastic when it was hot.

Hope that helps a bit????

So like a G clamp and then slowly bend around?

I've got some pictures somewhere of what they look like, I'll have a look. We didn't do it ourselves (not in a zed as it was years ago) but my brother needed a huge flare put into the arches which requires some skill and filler, neither of which we had. Are you literally just tweaking the arches?

Edit ... As monkey said if it is just a tap to the arch needed

Just need to bend them up inside to get the 10mm 'German' clearance. Have about 4mm now.

And how can I put a pic on here?
