The media seem to make a special mention of St Patrick/Andrew/Davids day - but old George won’t get any mention today will he? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Didn't St George slay a dragon? My mother-in-law stays in on April 23rd; she's very superstitious.

He was believed to have been born in what is now Turkey and never visited England. Seems he was popular in medieval times and is also the patron saint of Portugal, Georgia and Ethiopia - one for a pub quiz that!

Weirdly my gym latched onto it to try and hand me a sheet with a "Dragon Slayer" workout on it when I arrived. I declined.

Got a mention on the redio today and I noticed that Google did a themed ‘doodle’ to commemorate the day so not entirely forgotten .... but hasn’t the flag become rather associated with the far right? A pity of course, but perhaps hard to break the link?

Happy at George's Day everyone

Pity it's not celebrated like the others, our flag should be flying from every building

I've got Absolute Classic Rock on the radio and between 7pm and 10pm they are only playing music by English to mark St George's Day.
