I propose a blinded Photo entry. What what what? Yeah... a blinded photo entry. Think about the advantages:sp3ctre said:Ben. said:How would it level the playing field? The better or professional photographer would still have an advantage.
I really enjoy seeing all the pictures! Keep them coming.
Possibly just have a theme each month..?
I dont want to hi-jack the competition thread, so maybe we should take this discussion into another thread, but this is something I have been considering since the start. The problem as I see it is we are spread far and wide and every once in a while we get some amazing shots that I wouldnt want us to miss out on because it didnt fir the theme.
For example, if it is December and snowing here we could have a "zed in the snow" theme... would be cool, but not so good for the folks in Australia LOL. Things like Easter or Christmas could be fun I suppose.
I suggest we try it out as a one off in the first instance, but first we need another thread with theme suggestions, then a poll to gauge what people would like the theme to be.
1. Members can post a picture of what they feel is their best shot without feeling intimidated by the entries previous to theirs. That way you can get more entries.
2. If a member happens to post a pic early in the comp and it's a totally off-the-wall / unique pic, then blinding the pic will prevent others from grabbing the same idea and posting a similar / "better" pic (call it protecting intellectual property :lol: )
3. Psychologically, the novelty of a pic wears off the more times you see it (generally speaking). If entries are not shown until voting time, it'll allow every person who entered the same viewing time during the voting.
