Apple watch repair

Because I've got AF I decided an Apple watch was a good idea - To be fair it was, until the ECG function went o the blink!

Evenetually I took it back to the Apple store who sold it to me who confirmed it was within its two year warranty. They did a reinstall and re pairing to the phone and confirmed it was goosed - they sent it away for repair.

The repairers couldn't fin a fault and sent it back to the store - who replicated the fault!

After I collect the watch from the Apple store, I have now got to wait of a special box to pack it in and wait of a courier to collect it to take it to a specialist centre who are certified as Apple class it as a certified medical device.

Why can't they just give me another watch? :headbang:

Why did you pay silly money for a brand name that needs a specific type of charger that is incompatible with any other brand?

But not for much longer thanks to the EU (probably the only useful thing they have done)!

I have an iMac, iPhone and and iPad so it would have been silly to buy anything else that probably wouldn't have integrated 100%

I was set on the Apple route as my android phone wouldnt reliably link with my Z4

After contacting Apple and elevating the fault - they sent a UPS van with a transit pack - it was sent yesterday pm and I’ve just had an email to say there’s a new iWatch on its way to me via UPS

It was received by the Dept at 01.56 - the fault observed at 04.50 and a replacement sanctioned at the same time.

I was told that if it had been a fault in the watch, it would have been dealt with by the Apple store - but because it was a fault with the ECG feature it had to go to a specialised department. The USA regs say it is classified as a medical device.

The bottom line is I suppose is that I don’t know if buying Apple was silly money after all
