Apple Pay and magnetic car mounts

Mrs Pilot has just become the owner of a spanking new business phone - an iPhone7. She intends to use the Apple Pay capability, but I'm unsure if the metal strips you would stick to the phone (or inside the phone case), to be able to use a magnetic car mount, will affect Apple Pay. I'm assuming Apple Pay uses NFC, but can't get a definitive answer as to whether the metal strips interfere with the signal. Anyone got any first hand experience?

My friend and I both have magnetic phone holders and have experienced zero impact on Apple Pay

Yep it all works fine. I use Apple Pay every day, and have a magnetic mount in my car. No issues at all
