Hi Everyone,
Just wanted you space all to know about a bug which I encountered on the Mr12volt CIC unit connected to my Z4. I upgraded to iOS 26 and found that CarPlay had some new features but also a serious bug which immediately affected the ability to get back to the CarPlay home screen and/or make phone calls in the car.
If you have accessibility voice commands turned on in the CarPlay menu (which allows you to say ‘go home’ - to go to the CarPlay main menu - or ‘swipe right’ to move the next screen), I found that on iOS 26 with my release of the Mr12volt firmware I have, that this would cause the CarPlay system to go into BMW telephone Mode with a call that you couldn’t hang up ! And the only way out of it, was to pick up the phone, dial a number and end the call on your iPhone. As soon as you ended the call, CarPlay would come back up again and your system we would be back to normal.
By disabling CarPlay, accessibility, voice controls, it overcomes this issue. Alternatively, It also seems that you can go into the Factory settings in Mr12volt and select ‘Disable phone link audio’ - this seems to prevent the issue as well although you revert to Bluetooth quality only for phone calls, rather than the much clearer WiFi call quality that CarPlay usually gives you. Will do some more testing and will update this accordingly. Add your comments as well as it will help resolve these issues. Will report the above to Apple and Mr12volt.
