Apple announcement

People buy them as they want a nice looking phone thats functional, maybe even fasionable!

Same with cars, why buy a Z4 over another 2 seater... Because you want it, like it, it works for you!

I cant understand why some people are so against people who like apple stuff. Its no different to anyone who has any other brand loyalty. BMW, Sony, Clothing brands etc, whats the difference.

I wouldn’t say anyone is 'against people who like apple' more so amused at the excitement that is all stirred up by the apple PR machine then regurgitated and preached by the people who buy them

With regards to taking swipes at apple - sure, they put themselves up there as the innovator of mobile technology, so when they deliver devices that aren’t working properly, then sure, they will get bad press

I have a iphone 4 and an Ipad2 (provided by work) but I just cant seem to muster the joy and rapture some of you are experiencing :(
 
I keep reading the comments, for and against Apple, Samsung is much better etcetera and I chuckle. Apple have a truly enviable following to which every manufacturers board have wet dreams of emulating.

We live in a truly capitalist society where the wheels of the marketing department convince us that we need stuff that we probably don't and to replace it regularly when we probably needn't just so we look cool. Engineers are told to develop things that have a finite life when making things to last significantly longer is cheaper in the long run, such that we are forced to buy a new washing machine after 5 years.

This keeps the Earth spinning, without me and you spending money our civilisation would collapse, so stop the moaning about sheep there is no right and wrong, there is only capitalism.....

Here endeth the lesson :D
 
I agree with Ranski. I don't think anybody is particularly anti-Apple per se. It's the total lack of tolerance for any microcosm of criticism of Apple, from some people, that gets peoples back up. You can't take anything they say seriously on the topic, because there is a total lack of objectivity.

As I said previously they'd buy a dog turd if Apple announced it at a press conference.

The new connector does not transfer iPod audio - apple have gone to wi-fi for that so you can buy all the connectors you like and it won't work. Unless its a 3.5mm headphone jack to 3.5 input or similar.

I thought that but what the connector does not support out is the ability to control the sound by an external control as in the BMW ipod connector that plugs into H/U
It was shown on the Apple site as a restriction ,now removed and it confirms analogue sound output

This adapter lets you connect devices with a Lightning connector to many of your 30-pin accessories.* Support for analog audio output, USB audio, as well as syncing and charging. Video output not supported.

I totally agree with this. I wish Android devices were as well built and stylish as the iPhone.....

Its all a bit of harmless banter 8-)

They are great. Just made me realise I never ever use them. Have Zep too if anyone wants to buy that too, £250. Only used twice I think!

I've got the Zeppelin too. Bloody fantastic piece of kit. Never tried the Bose one though. Jag are phasing out the B&W sound system in the XF for 2013 too, which seems a real shame as it was considered to be an incredible system.
 
Picked up a 32gig black one this morning to replace my out of contract 4. It's OK, like the thin profile, weight and faster speed. Having used Apple products consistently since 1986 (through all the good and bad years), it's not as exciting as some launches but it's a decent enough product and beats the Samsung for quality.

I too have the Zeppelin. Top piece of kit and really love it.

You're right that Jag have phased out the B&W system on the XF. It was on my list of desirable extras when I was buying, but sadly had to skip it in a compromise of car choice..
 
I have no idea what a Zeppelin is and I am not going to google it either in case I want it :D
