now with my previous car , a 6 series , blind panic would have taken over as the whole headlight unit ( active xenon's ) was sealed & would have needed replacing at around £350 :o
my Zed has standard xenon,s which work fine but passenger sidelight is not illuminating ? opened the bonnet & it doesn,t look DIY on bulb change .
what,s involved & what bulbs are required ?
thanks

Remove top access cover from wheel arch, the pull metal retaining bar down to remove rear cover to headlight.
Side light bulb is at bottom of inner light, pull out and replace bulb, refit in reverse order.
If its xenon then disconnect battery first as high voltage

Very unlikely to be the bulb on a xenon unit as they shoudl last the lifetime of the car. More likely the ballast that's fastened on the underside of the headlight unit or the ignitor on the rear of the bulb.

You could try swapping parts left to right starting with the bulb to eliminate that first, then bumper off lights out and swap ballasts side to side.

No need to disconnect the battery, but don't switch them on with fingers near as per the above warnings.

cj10jeeper, think he said its the side light

but are xenons not covered on warranty, i am sure i have read that on here somewhere

Maybe a good time to fine some led sidelights which light the halo nicely!

yeah that sounds nice :)
what's involved ?
I had swapped mine when i first got it to a single led bulb.... But it never lit the entire halo up, so went back to stock.

If you find a suitable led bulb let me know

I'm sure this is a bulb I used,

BMW sell it only with the holder at a stupid amount of money.

so do these bulbs just replace the ones already fitted ? & what difference would be noticed ? got any pics ?

No difference to standard, just not getting robbed by the dealers. If your sidelight bulb is out your indicator should be alight permitly is that correct? BMW sell the bulb with the holder at £30/40 if I remember correctly.
