I made an enquiry directly to AP racing about using their calipers with the standard fittment OEM BMW discs on the Z4M.
Pretty as they are I didn't see the need to shell out for AP discs especially when Ive just fitted new OEM ones ......

this was the reply ...... its good info to know.

Thank you for your enquiry,
If the wheel spec is as shown in the photo then yes the kit will mount under the 18” BMW wheel without spacers.
Kit # CP5575-1010
Available in black or red, also rear kit available.
Kit details on http://www.apracing.com/info/index.asp?section=Z4+Applications_2721

However if the wheel is different then click the link to bring up the profile / template drg, this can be printed off 100% scale, cut to shape, then place this template inside the wheel to check for any clearance issues caliper to inner wheel profile.
(click highlighted text opposite) - Caliper Brake Kit Profile

There is also a rear kit available, again details on the web link.

The reply you got has nothing to do with discs. :? They're merely saying the callipers will fit the stock wheels.

You can use OEM rear discs (as I did) but the fronts will need to be the bigger AP discs.

Yup, my kit required substantial modification to splash gaurds front and rear.... I have the larger kit the required spacers....

Amazing brakes however....

I'm not sure that cutting the splashguards with a pair of tin snips qualifies as "substantial modification"

Tell that to the splash guards!

After visit the track yesterday and getting a soft brake pedal even with 1 day old Endless RF 650 fluid after just one 20min session (granted i was with a passenger onboard) i'm thinking i'll have to invest in a big brake kit too eventually. Or maybe more aggressive pads and see how it goes from there on...

lol tin snips... you must have very strong hands ;-) arhh thats right you stood back and paid simpson a small fortune to fit them for you

i used a angle grinder ;-) and the front and rear were literally butchered, but i spent a lot of time getting them looking perfect but yeah definitely substantial modification needed, ... does count as substantial modification to my 10k mile car to me anyhow  :poke: imo I hate having do cut, anything when adding mods... if it didnt mean hubs off for the fronts i would have simply removed them......

You're right, £50 is a small fortune 8)
playa, i call Bullshit on that one.... scan up your invoice for 50 quid labour :-) let me guess, you haven't got it right?? Funny how you never mentioned that back during the fitting time... i would have thought that would be something to post up about :-)

No I don't have the invoice, when I had the car I was more interested in driving the thing not rubbing one out while cleaning the undertray for the hundredth time in a week so forgive me if before I sold it on I didn't have every single invoice. If you want verification feel free to phone Ant at Simpsons and ask. I was charged so little labour as it took so long to get them fitted as there was noise from the rear discs rubbing on the splash guards. They were excellent about it as usual and saw fit to only charge me for an hour.

To be called a bullshitter by you is really an honour as I see you as the absolute king of bullshit. How is your RRS btw? Done any "trackdays" lately? What happened to the GTR you sold? Did one of the kiddies at the local playground want it for their collection?

whooooppppsss mr playalistic spat the dummy!!! i wonder why???

ok well lets answer your questions, the GTR was purchased from polesoworth Tamworth, i was one of the first people to take delivery of my lovely car.... give them a call and ask ;-) i wont post a pic of the car as it could be any bodies, how about the original order form??? or the presentation GTR silverstone pack i still have ??

anything else i can clear up for you :-)??? you look alittle silly now dont you?? just because i didnt post pics on a bmw forum, dont assume things, look at the business card and give him a call :-)

ok now im a very fortunate young man, with a very nice life... i can sense your hate of that.... now you and your 15th hand plastic boat that breaks down every 5 mins should really move on to the noble forums..... :-) Next time save alittle more pennies and grab the real model, the m400 ;-) but i KNOW you could never afford that mr bullshitalistic :-) now toodle pip and take your poverty spec m12 with you :fuelfire:

i look forward to showing you new pics of the my new toy arriving soon, but check closesly at the pics as it could be a matchbox car in reality!! lol!!
yeahh your right on a few things however, i am a clean freak, and love to detail, i havent been to every track in the uk but love my local event... soooo????

playa.... you Dickhead!! lol

What are those forms supposed to prove? Still calling you out on your amazing invisible GTR. Funny how you post pictures of every mundane thing down to the last bolt you put on your garage queen yet for some reason decide not to post pictures of your most exotic items that might actually be of interest. Also saying the car is anybodies? You seem to have got tied up in your own lies as you said before you sold it to your dad.

How's the RRS going anyway?

As for the comments re the Noble. Nice work. I can't even respond on that since you obviously know very little about that world. As for what I can afford... Well, I just lol'd.

Brilliant job you did with my name there too. Getting nice memories of the playground back at school reading your post.

The RRS is doing GREAT, its on my driveway right next to my TT...... lets put a wager and get ANY midland member to drive by my house?? theirs a few in sutton coldfield as well :-) ill happily invite them in for a chin wag as well :-) im guessing you want a pic with custard on the roof right?? :driving:

i did post every single piece of the build this bmw forum, as its a bmw car..... their is LOTS of dont post about, why?? no need really i guess.....

well i guess you'll just have to believe what you will.... haters gonnna hate i guess!!

how is the noble anyway?? what was it 70k miles??? how many owers??? what a downgrade!! im suprised you remember the playground antics, i guessing by your car choice you dropped out???? :tumbleweed:

right now i couldnt even post a pic of the z4 as its not @ my house.... thats also a part of imagination..... wait didn't you say originally that i was making up the supercharger kit stuff as well?? im sure it was you.....

this has been great fun!! now.... now take your mondeo engined plastic vehicle, and move on......

as were embarressingly clogging someone elses thread, pm me or something, my v-tec baby computer is running low on juice

Hey, no need for that just take a picture of the V5 with your name on it on the dash of the car. I'd say do a custard test but you'd probably just hire one out for the day or something. Nothing to say about the GTR? It is about time someone called you out on your constant B.S on here and the other forums. I've still not had one solid fact that can prove most of your life isn't made up.

You really have a hard-on about the Noble don't you?

my life is made up i guess :-) ow well....... you Stink of jealousy........ call me out on the GTR....ive posted my original order WITH the dealers name and actual business card!!! lol!! your clutching at straws!! call the dealer!!! that will settle that one, ill refund you the call back........

i really want to post up some other pics but...... it would just look absolutely terrible so i wont.... me and my family have grafted to be where we are and i wont piss all over it for an internet willy waving contest.......... you do know what it is we do right???? oohh nooo i havent ever posted that up

anyway seriously .... enjoy the m12.... id love an m400 but they are very difficult to come by.... hopefully you finally got the doors open on your noble....what was the problem??? how about the gearbox, sorted that yet??? or the week before that it didn't start and you had to roll it off your driveway?? im literally loling @ how many problems your having with your new purchase..... bet the scrappers know you well :-)

Z4 is now tucked away with some mysterious others......
