AP brake kit replacement discs

I have a set of front and rear AP brakes for my Z4M.

I believe it’s the 5575 kit with the AP calipers to fit the AP discs rather than the BMW rear discs.

The front bells appear to be allow and the rear are once piece steel discs. The rear bells have corrosion and I’m wondering if there is a two piece disc that fits this caliper?

325 x 20mm discs.

Any ideas?

Can’t help you Babw, but can I add another question to your thread please: what front discs are people running - AP or another source?

The rear z4m set incorporates standard z4m discs, the front is 356 x 32mm disc fitting an ally bell.

Not quite sure what disc you're measuring above but presume that's the rear?

I've run performance friction discs and ap racing ones - pf seemed better but are more expensive! Reyland motorsport do make pattern discs to fit the bells, I've never tried them myself but Tom King on here has and didn't have the best time with them - I understand they heat cracked a ote quickly....

Thanks Ed. Mine are from Reyland and they haven’t cracked but they seem to be wearing very quickly (hence adding my question).

No worries :) what pads you running? I'm sure you'll already know this but if you're running aggressive pads they will be eating your discs faster; the inevitable trade off for proper performance! I've found the raybestos btcc pads do eat the discs a bit, I've probably done 7-8k on my fronts (ap racing discs) and they're shagged!

Indeed, but even considering that, they’re losing material faster than the pads!

I bought my kit circa 2016/17 brand new and there were 2 options. One with AP discs and one to be used with OEM discs. I opted for the former but 9 years later although the car has been used sparingly, the back discs are irritatingly corroded on the bells.

Found the original invoice and part number for the rear brakes.
AP CP5144-1004.G8

They look like this, one piece.

Reyland will do you some to that size in 2 piece, give them a call. http://www.reyland.co.uk/discs/
They are not the finest discs in the world but certainly not terrible and as they're for the rears I wouldn't worry too much. Far better than ebc or awful stuff like M-Tec who will also make 2 pieces to custom size I believe. FWIW I cracked front Reylands, but also AP & PF. My biggest gripe with them was that the internal cooling vanes are straight not curved which they ought to be so surfaces temps will be higher.

Or you could get the BMW discs and live with the pad not sweeping it entirely and having drilled as opposed to grooved fronts, they're a good disc. Somehow though I suspect that's not an option for you, I live with it but it irks me too!:giggle:

Slightly off topic but anyone used Godspeed for discs? Seem to be a bit more expensive but think they use curved vane discs rather than straight which I guess is a plus?
