Anyway to open the boot/trunk manually if I remove the battery

Firstly, car won't start

Lights, heating seem to work, so I'm not convinced it's the battery but want to rule it out first (not mechanically minded so if it's the starter that's a garage job).

However I live in a flat, and the only way to charge the battery will be to remove it and bring it up as I can't run power to the car easily.

I just went to disconnect the battery and suddenly thought - if I disconnect the battery and close the boot - I won't be able to get it open again to put the battery back in... Unless I'm missing something and there's a way to open the boot manually with the key somehow? Tried a quick google but nothing came up...

It's an E85 2005 3.0 se

You could connect the battery to the points under bonnet with jump leads then open boot , obviously the car would need to be left unlocked .or at least bonnet left partially latched .

*facepalm*

That's what I get for doing this outside in the dark!

Stand down everyone, problem is with the owner, not the car!
