I need a pair of 18" rear tyres - currently have FK453 all round

Anything else I should be considering at a similar price point?

I Might get shot down in a ball of flames for this, but i've been using the mrs' wheels off her 1 series whilst mine have been in for a refurb, but they are fitted with Nexen N3000's - the wet weather grip is great , not noisy & Mega cheap! Like Nankang cheap!

I also reccomended them to a work colleauge for his bmw also & he really rates them

You can get good prices on GoodYear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2s, though 255 sizes are a bit difficult to find at the minute.

Well liked by many on the forum but take a few hundred miles to bed in and give their best.

Anything wrong with your 453's as such?

They are a pain in the ass to fit. They have a very very strong side wall. Not good for comfort.

I have just fitted Kumho ecsta ku39 and i came from the Falkens. I prefure these they seem gripper in the dry and wet. And they are cheaper

Thanks all

The Falkens have been fine but they must be nearly 2 years old so just wondered if anything else had come out since then

Tbf there are many very decent tyres from names many will never have heard of , & also many that are complete babba
I don't thin k the N3000s are even Nexens best performers so its good to hear they perform well as in the AE tests a few years back

Can't really see beyond a set of Vreds. Epic tyres that made my Falken 452's on my Supra look awful. Had a full set of 452's, rears wore out and fitted Vreds on the back. So much grip in the wet, the car understeered.

Agreed , at similar money you wouldn't choose Falkens over Vreds or Hankook's
The Vortis for me are as close to MPSS that you will get but for much less money .

I have Falken 453's on mine, I cant complain about them but at the same time can't really compare them to anything as I've not had any others on this car.
I'm not too keen on the fitment of them on my CSL's, they look too stretched, almost like I have an incorrect tyre size for the rim.
I'll be replacing them with M PSS for Spring after all the good reviews and I like the look of the extra rim protection they have.

Ran 2 sets of FK452's and they were a very good tyre.
Last set though I changed to GoodYear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2's and withoutt doubt they are a step up. With a bit of searching got them for the same price as 453's were going for.

I just got 2 new Pirelli P Zero's on the rear of mine.....30% off at....dare I say it.....KwikFit.....

They were what was fitted when I bought the car and haven't found any reason to fault them so just replaced as was......HhhmmHhmmm...and they was cheap... (£275 all in )....  Cheapest I could find round here anyhow..

Definite thumbs up for Vredestein Ultrac Vortis replaced the RFs with them never looked back.
