Anyone wash the Zed today?

i just pay a fiver and have mine snow foamed, hand washed, dried, tyre shined and a free air freshener at my local car wash whilst i sit inside it all toastie..... once a week and it looks good enough for me

Yes but you havnt got the satisfaction of doing it yourself!

I haven't cleaned my zed since the end of October and its minging inside and out, and do you know what? I couldn't care less. Means I don't have to worry about driving in this crap weather and getting it dirty.

outside I can understand, but inside, really? Poor little Zed

i know, i'm starting to feel guilty now, think i will give it a pampering session next week, it is looking rather neglected. my sons R reg passat diesel is cleaner and shinier than my zed,

i havent got a drive to wash it on and in this weather wouldnt want to do it anyway

and in the summer, i would rather be driving it than washing it

fair point, it doesnt show up that much on white and so i can live with it

Did mine Sunday,it was nice and sunny here.Pissing down now though,but at least she's nice and clean.

Snowfoamed mine yesterday just to get the thick stuff off, leaves and other crap out of the arches etc. No point doing a contact wash.

Washed mine couple of days before Christmas, it's still pretty clean but I've mainly been using my mum's car as a run around.

Zed will need a wash next week

I wish my engine was that clean! It looks like the weather could be a bit better tomorrow, so my 6 series might get a clean. The Z is safely tucked up in the garage and was cleaned a couple of weeks ago before I put her away. I had hoped that it would be dry enough sometime over the holiday period to have a day out with the hood down. Can't believe how crap the weather has been.

Nice sunny day in London today so snow foamed the z followed with a wash. Though when I wash my car I look over at my parents cars and always feel obliged to clean there's also (they have a car each). I'm knackered.

Oh and whilst jet washing the z I took off most of the black plasti dip paint off the grill :x

Can anyone recommend the best products (to a new owner) to wash the Z4 with. My previous car was an old vw golf which was lucky to see the car wash occasionally. I'd like to make more effort now. I went to Halfords and there was a big choice so I bought nothing. I don't have any fancy equipment just a hose and bucket.

Many zedders have there favourite products & routines whilst others are totally meticulous with the process of car detailing .
I would put myself in the middle somewhere
The 3 products ive found suit me best for ease of application & standard of finish / protection are
Autoglym super resin polish . / use first as this removes contaminants from paintwork & isn't a wax or sealant ( can remove with machine or hand)

Finally some sunshine today and the bucket and sponge were out. Went for a nice long drive beforehand, roof down, and it was great because the car was already filthy so I didn't care about the water and mud running down the road . But now it's gleaming and I daren't take it out. How ridiculous.

Anyone else noticed the evil potholes that have opened up with all the rain? There's one on the A road near me that looks like the Grand Canyon. Every time I go past it I wince, imagining some poor sap going down it during the hours of darkness.

Haha , did the same this afternoon . mrs w said she was taking the tree/lights/decs down & that was my cue for getting car out over the moors for a blast ,
got back & spent 2 hours washing & waxing , then put the decs in the loft & all here are happy
on the pothole topic ? yeah noticed more than one & they did look like wheel munchers :thumbsdown: avoid

Still have the decs to do - but I have a sneaky suspicion that I may disappear when 12th night is upon us!
