Hi, I had figured about £4-5k additional for a nice car with sensible miles. My ad is here. As I would imagine is the case with 'Z's too, probably 85% of M3's out there are rubbish. I looked at six before buying mine and the one I eventually bought I had inspected no less than three times, including by a main dealer because I was so paranoid. Despite the main dealer history, I have had a few things done over again for my satisfaction as I know main dealer stamps can also often reflect the bare minimum.
I have just reduced the price to bring it in line with trade value, which I have confirmed with a couple of independent traders. Both reckon this price is spot on, a few M3 people have suggested £9k is too cheap for the miles and condition, but I'd be happy with a sensible deal. Very few traders have cash these days, they all want to sell on a commision basis or take mine in at this and sell me an overpriced ZM which is unlikely to have been cared for as my M3 has. I'd rather strike a private deal with someone like myself who is an enthusiast so we would both know we are getting a good car.
My car also has £1000 worth of high end audio (all stealthily installed so no outward signs) - I spend a fair amount of time in the car hence why DSP is important to me.
There are tons and tons of M3's for sale at £7k-£8k, but most have 90-100,000 miles plus and most are thrashed examples. I think I have priced mine fairly. Thanks for any replies.
