I've got 5.7 on my desktop. Not much issues... YET. The one thing I HATE is waiting for Vista drivers for the hardware I've had for years... and that's ONLY if they choose to update their friggin drivers.

What he said. Well except for gaming. I game alot, so I still use windows XP, albiet on my gaming rig. The laptop can push the games almost as well as near 3k (2 year old) system, but XP has a lot of problems running on bootcamp.

My primary desktop is running Vista Ultimate. The ONLY reason for Vista on my primary desktop so I could run Halo2.... :guns:
My Gaming laptop runs XP. Only because it only has 2Gig of memory, and I have not upgraded it yet and don't want to spend another $$$ for a second OS for it.
My daughter, wife and mother-in-law (yes, she lives with us :dizzy: ) are XP users. My son is running Vista Home Premium. He is a big gamer also.
My rack mounted systems are running Redhat Fedora 7 (Webserver, FTP Server, Mail server and SSH server) , Shorewall (firewall), Gentoo (test box) and WinServ2003 Enterprise (for the 500Mg DLT tape robot and Exchange)
Oh, did I say that I was a GEEK.
Licensed and certified MCSE, RHCE and CCIE. All up to date....

The truth to this whole story is that I had to move OUT of this room that I built.
When my mother-in-law moved in, I had to move my son into this room. I got moved into the loft area of the house. Oh the Rack is still here but the BOSS makes me keep everything neat....

I'm not a system developer, just need my pc's do get on with it while I do real work.
Purchased a new Sony Vaio dual core 2ghz and 2g ram and it should be quick, but Vista has become a real pain for me.
It's pretty and I recognise where most things are but in daily use It's a challenge. Conflicts, failing to recognise half my hardware, so many idiot screens to allow me to use anything. I'm not even the owner of my own documents any longer...
Collectively the preinstalled Norton 360, Defender and IE7 contrive to stop almost anythng I'd like to do.
I may well rip it all up and install my trusty XP pro
