Anyone used BMTechnic OBD and software?

After buying an OBD cable and software and spending 10 hours trying to install it unsuccessfully, I am thinking about one of these: http://bmtechnic.co.uk/bmw-diagnostic-cable-black-edition/

It says one click installation!  Was wondering if anyone had any experience of it?

Black edition? does that make it faster?

If you're after ease of use, then perhaps. But the installation is really not that difficult. I don't know how they can claim one click installation when every PC is different.

They have silver edition for 2007 cars onwards, think they have just used colours to simplify it. When I have tried to install the software (3 times) it isn't working, could it be because my laptop has 2 hard drives and I'm not installing to C:?

Had that very issue, I reformatted to one drive and followed instructions to the word and it worked.

I bought a bmtechnic cable last week, ordered Thursday, delivered Friday!

Its probably not one click, more like 8, but so simple that if you can't install, you shouldn't own a computer!

What in particular are you buying it for?

Will go for it then! I have electrical gremlins with the passenger seat always thinking someone is sat in it and the airbag light needs resetting. + will be good to have for the sake of £30!

before you are able to turn the seatbelt warning off, you will need to patch the software. This isn't an issue that is only with BMTechnic but with all cables. Unless you are fairly technically minded, it may be better to find someone else on the forum who is nearby and can do for you, or go to an indy

To clear warming light can be done in DIS v57 and you don't need to patch the software. If you want to deactivate the seatbelt reminder then yes patch is required for SSSv32 software.

Thats very kind of you BPM  however it would be a bit of a drive from Bolton!

I am going to get one ordered and see how I get on

I have the kit from BMT, they call it a one click install as it installs and sets up the virtual machines needed to run certain pieces of software for you. And by launching the software through their launch panel, it will run the right virtual machine / software combo to make it work. So it makes it a bit simpler for less technical / patient people.

For my vehicle, when in the sensors page of INPA it was in germany not english. Email to BMT, they responded within a few hours with additional files to get it in english.

So far so good :)
