Was going to get Performance Friction carbon z pads but I am tempted by the textar e-pads. Cheaper and the low dust is very appealing. Anyone on here used them on track and care to share thoughts?
Hi, I've got the textar epads and would say they feel pretty much the same as standard oem but may be a touch less initial bit when cold and a shade less fade under repeated hard use, but that could just be me comparing with the worn oem set. Yes there is less dust and what there is is far easier to wash off probably as there is less iron in the dust to 'burn' deposits on to the wheel. The epads have also been quiet with no squealing or judder, like stock really.
Sorry but I'm not a track user so can't say how they stack up, only that any pad sold in the EU as a a replacement for stock/oem MUST perform within +/- 15% of the oem part ie little better or worse in any area of performance, so unless you buy something sold as a track performance pad it isn't going to be very different. That however relates to braking performance not durability (pads breaking up or coming unglued) or squealing which are a different issues and worth researching before buying a particular make.
Hope that helps a bit but for something a bit more scientific this is interesting and seems to endorse the Zpads for track use (although it reads a bit like an advert!)

Had the epads on for the last two years and two euro cruzes , done all the passes stelvio, susten, grimsel and loads more , found them great no fade and hotter they got the more they gripped,

Seems like the general consensus is that they a good OEM replacement but will also perform when needed, but probably not as track orientated as the Performance Friction pads, however they do sound like they could be ideal so may give them a go.
