Anyone use a Disclok?

I appreciate your concerns and it's a personal choice, but I would rather know someone can't easily steal our car. It would be very hard for the dealer to detect this unless they needed to remove a lot of the dashboard panels. It took me around three hours to install so that it was very hard to detect.

I think they would also be in a difficult position to justify how a switch on a diagnostic port would effect the cars operational functionality if they did detect it.

What they should really be addressing is the actual issue.

As mentioned, another alternative would be to install a dummy OBD port and move the real one out of the way. But this would mean more work each time you took it into the dealer to put it back again.
 
Interesting solution, and one that logically should be ok, but I can see Tim's concerns over warranty issues...what about weird electrical fault etc...if they found this, its an easy get out clause for them.

However it is a neat idea though to stop the thieving scumbags in their tracks!
 
A blank would be good to cover up the port but still allow cables to be plugged in, (obviously not too visable so they dont know its there....)

Whilst the idea of disabling the switch is an interesting idea. The other part of me thinks. Gap insurance.

Unless there is a specific reason your insurance company wont insure your car becuase your manufacturer wont fix a known issue.
 
If its that bad, shouldn't it lose its Thatcham rating? (I think it has category 1).
