Anyone running lowered front springs with standard rears?

Hi guys, just wanted to throw this out there...

Has anyone run lowered front springs (Eibachs or HRs) with standard rear springs? How was the ride/handling?

Or is it generally recomended running both axles on lowered springs?

I'm no expert but you'd assume the [spring rates/balance/whatever they calculate] for all 4 corners are calculated by Eibach/HR on the assumption they'll be used all round, unless they specifically sell a front or rear only set.

Surely if you only use two you'll get some unintended side effects.

Agree makes sense to put all 4 on, but I'm happy with the height/spacing of the rears as I have 265/40/18s on.

Just wanted to see if anyone actually tried running this configuration...

I've seen mention of "spring pads" on here. If such a thing does exist in 10-15mm you could use those to lift the back of the car back up to where it is now and still use the new springs.

Got the car booked in to fit eibachs, only 10mm drop at rear but worried about rubbing, tyres quite close out to arch, will this need camber adjustment to help fit?

apologies she's looking a bit dirty after the winter, she's an outdoor car, but soon due for good clean/detail...

their is NO WAY an ET 33 9" rim will rub on z4m being lowered 10mm... not in a million years unless you have an elephant in the trunk.... don't even worry about it.

My eibach's are being fitted this week :)

Are you doing a wheel alignment with it? If so, how are you setting it up?

Cheers quite a relief, with some of the dodgy roads and speed bumps, have got the shakes thinking about the rubbing/crunching, might have to lay off the hot cross buns though :)

No, was just going to get them on and see how it feels first. Eibachs aren't as severe as h&rs, but will trawl through the aftermarket susp thread for camber/toe settings incase...

Ps links, I'm still running 18s so the exdos 224 setup seems likely... link ref:

That explains it... the photo above shows rear type/arch spacing but the rear driver side has already broken, garage confirmed broken spring pig tail tip, hence it is actually sitting lower that oem. Difference from passngr side is about a bit of my finger - approx 10mms.

So with Eibachs on it shouldn't be far off from how it's looks in pic, which should give plenty clearance

Hi guys, regarding the toe-in setting, what units is that expressed in?
(Taken from link)

Front:
Camber: -1.5deg
Toe-in: 0.10 (ea)

Rear:
Camber: -1.0deg
Toe-in: 0.10 (ea)

edit: I'm assuming each side, but is that measurement in inches/degrees?

I believe it's mm

I'm chuffed with that geometry setting, much better than OEM in my opinion.

Cheers, springs going on today, will run with OEM rest of this week also get some miles on the PSS's

Wanted to bump this thread with a similar query. Would it be ok to fit eibachs on the front and then fit the rears a few days later? Or vice versa, fit the rears and then the fronts a few days later? I plan on doing the rears myself but getting a local indy to do the fronts but not sure I will be able to get them done on the same day.

Don't see why not, just don't go hooning until both axles sorted :)
That's a good plan, feedback from guys on here say the rears are a doddle, with the fronts taking a bit longer to do...
