Anyone replaced the cd/radio?

I'm in the process of upgrading my sound system as its the standard business radio and lacks abit of punch. Now am i correct in thinking this system has no amps so a headunit should be a straight forward swap with the right iso lead? Reason i want to upgrade or thinking about it is i'm using a high to low level adapter for my subwoofer amp and the quality isnt the best and with my alpine 9886R i would gain much better control over the speakers and subs.

How well do the surrounds fit? anyone got any close up pictures of an after market headunit fitted?

I tried fitting an aftermarket HU but gave up in the end. I tried three different surrounds and not a single one fitted properly. I sold the HU on in the end and refitted the standard unit.
 
Ive ordered the connects2 one as it looked the best quality, will see next week when it arrives how it fits, fingers crossed. The stock headunit really is holding me back.
 
I have just fitted an Alpine iDA X-305 head unit the surround is a bit fiddlt to get looking good and I still have a bit to do to finish the project off but am more than happy with the results
