I have a leak on the Rear Turbo Coolant Pipe on my 35i which I wil have to replace over the xmas period.

Has anyone replaced this before that could give me any tips? It's pipe number 4 in the RealOEM picture below at the rear (far left hand side).

As far as I can see I will have to remove the primary Cats to hopefully get access to the pipe - is this the case and nothing else needs removing?

Can't advise on replacing the line but I would suggest you make 100% sure that it is leaking first. You can get leaks from the valve cover making their way down there and also blow-by in the air intake can leak from that rear connection and leak down in that area too.

That’s a coolant pipe though, the areas you’ve mentioned would be leaking oil wouldn’t they?

It's definitely a water coolant pipe and the leak is coming from there and no where else, I have verified that!

I suppose if it's visibly leaking coolant then there's nowhere else it can come from.

I thought I had a leak from the oil feed lines on the rear turbo until I realised it was just blow-by from a loose air intake that sits just above it.

I would try a tin of coolant leak stopper first and maybe nipping up the pipe unions if you can reach them before I go to all the trouble of replacing it.
