I still haven't found anything about the iDrive (which I hear is a nightmare to learn to use).

I can't understand reviewers and people who say iDrive is difficult to use (most are probably referring to the previous gen). I haven't used the previous generation iDrive, but the current one is very simple to use. If anyone has difficulty with it, they can only blame themselves.
