Anyone recommend a good outdoor cover?

Hi folks,

My Black M roadster is going to have to come out of the garage and live on the drive for a while. Having clayed and waxed to a gleaming sparkle I'm loathe to let the weather get at it.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable cover? It's not a permanent arrangement so I'd rather not shell out too much cash.

There are dozens of 'budget' covers out there for £40 or so, but the risks of scratching paint or sweating condensation worry me. :(

Does anyone have recent experience?

I also use large Halfords one no problems

But as a treat as I've had it detailed
I will be looking into a soft inside breathable outside cover as an upgrade also myself :)
 
with the type of winds we are getting at the moment i really wouldnt tbh.... probably ok in normal winds rain, but the current blizzards will probably damage it significantly.

hard luck to have to put her outside if it usually lived in the garage. i feel your pain.
 
I have a genuine bmw one which when i get my act together i need to sell on.... Would want far less than £40!

The point re: blizzards is a good one!. I can hear the wind howling right now as I type. I'm guessing no matter what quality the cover, if the wind gets a hold, it'll rip.

Hmmmm.... What to do? Rent a garage up the road perhaps?

All this celebrities hollowing out their basements in London has given me an idea.... dig out subterranean garages beneath the house p'raps?

With mine where straps have a basic strap to connector, I've cut it and put a bungie type cord in middle which helps:)
 
Thanks D4dawg, I'll take a look at the Halfords option... Unless you're serious aquazi? I work in London, so could take yours off your hands?
 
The halfords one has been fine with all the winds it's has 3 adjustable straps what hold it in place very well if you go for the medium size like I did.
 
I have a storm force on the Z and Halfords on the MR2, on both covers, I fitted punch through eyelets front and rear and now have a cord that ties from the front to the rear of the car. I found the covers both moved before I fitted the extra line.

As said I cut straps and put bungie cord in gap to keep it together so not under pressure
But front and rear can lift in strong winds
So may get it punched and do as you have:)

Yup;)
Good for covering hood
But as I leave my car for week at a time
So it keeps sun, dust, bird poo and dirty rain off it and saves my paintwork :)
