Found this sitting on the rear undertray. Trailing arm bracket bolt for reference.

I don't think it's from the Z4 but do shout if you recognise it.

Found it, its the nut for the rear wishbone at the body end (near the diff), I wouldn't be driving anywhere!

Don't worry, the suspension is completely disassembled. Glad I didn't discard it!
 
No worries, did you have to remove the diff to get to that bolt? I want to change the arms but I've been putting it off because of the access.
 
Yeah, it's tricky. I disconnected the driveshaft from the diff flange (6 Torx bolts) and let the driveshaft rest on the ARB. That gave enough space to get at the upper arm inboard bolt.
 
Be aware, I've only removed the RHS so far, exhaust system may make the LHS more difficult.
