That's lovely & I really like the rims too

You will enjoy that I am sure especially when the weather picks up again :driving:

Lovely  hope you enjoy. I have the diesel & love it. No problems in almost 4 years fingers crossed :D

Ran one for 8 or so months, found it to be fast but somewhat uninvolving to drive, lack of a Limited Slip Diff is a big downside for me. Probs as quick as my old E46 M3's were but no where near as involving. Mine ran on 19" wheels, looked good but were way to hard on the road and you felt every pothole. I can understand why these rims are so prone to cracking.

Did i enjoy owning it - not hugely.

Would i buy another - no chance!!

Fuel consumption wise it was Ok on a run but round town, short runs on choke, nearly as heavy as my 911 turbo, at 15/16 MPG!

Looks nice. I have to say I actually prefer the SE coupe over the M Sport. I'm also not aware of those wheels being the ones that cracked.

As for general BMW reliability. I'm on my 4th and only had 1 problem. It's also worth saying that 2 have been n47 which if you believe the internet means they should have s**t themselves.

It's odd that so many people seem to have an issue with BMW reliability. Since my '89 and '90 E30's (both M20's), through an '05 E46 (M47), R50 Mini Cooper, 3 ALPINA's (E90 D3BT (N47), E85 RS, E92 B3SBT (N54)) and F21 (N47), the only thing I've had to have replaced by a dealer (outside normal service items) has been a plastic cover which got broken by a clown during a service. So, for me, pretty reliable: but then I do a lot of preventative maintenance myself to ensure things stay lubed and happy. And I certainly don't wear rose-coloured specs when it comes to car reliability as I've had/known some shockers over the years.

The N54 engine you have bought has 2 known issues: turbo wastegates and HPFP as mentioned above. My ALPINA B3SBT is based upon the N54 lump, and is tuned to 400bhp, 540Nm as standard. So yours is well within power safety bands and as a base engine they are reliable as far as I can tell (HPFP and wastegates excluded). Mine has been a doll to own, and returns 29mpg. Not too bad for the power.

Enjoy your new car: she looks a nice spec

Personally I think of you ask people if theyve ever had problems on a bmw forum you're always going to get macro results back on reliability or lack thereof. Look at the number of units sold and work out the percentage of owners happy vs not happy and you'll be able to work out the realities of the situation.

These are cars and like all cars, most work great, some dont and some need amending in the name of progress. I had a 335i saloon. Loved it. Did my research, chose manual over the semi auto thingy, made sure the one I bought didnt rattle (and if it did it wasnt the end of the world), drove it, got around 30mpg, enjoyed it and only sold it as I wanted to get another M and figured our 2001 Golf could handle the family heavy lifting a while longer.

Now lives in New Zealand with its new owner.

Enjoy your new car. Looks a peach

Not sure if it was a 335i or 335d, but that pesky E91 earlier today was rapid - it feels wrong when such an innocent looking estate stays with a two-seater roadster.
