Anyone live in Hockley Heath?

I'm going to the classic car show at the NEC this weekend (Friday/Saturday) so staying in a B&B Thursday night and Friday night in Hockley Heath, just wondered if anyone knows of places to eat/drink in the evening.

I'm not local and am only in that area when visiting friends, but the Miller & Carter (steakhouse & bar) seemed to be popular, but I don't know of much else and haven't been there for about 2 years.

We now tend to take a short taxi ride into Knowle (if we don't want to stay around our Shirley base) which has a bigger choice of cuisine/pubs.

The Finest Catch (posh fish and chips) is really good on the way into Henley from Hockley Heath.
Loch Fyne in Knowle is also good for fish dishes.
Lloyds in Knowle is my regular curry house and the best I've ever been to.

Well we went to the Miller and Carter tonight and thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and beer, highly recommended.
Tomorrow night we are going to try the Lloyds in Knowle which the landlady of the B&B has also recommended, hope you don't have to book.
Thanks for the recommendations guys.

posh fish and chips? i love a good bit of chunky cod but have noticed a worrying trend amongst some fish and chip shops, you get what looks to be a lovely thick chunk of head end of cod and then on closer inspection you find that someone has stuck three or even four thin tail end pieces together to look like a fat one !! :headbang: makes me want to burn the chip shop down !!! :headbang:

....and if you like your curry a bit hot go for the chicken tikka naga.....if you don't like it I'll give you your money back.
Say steve recommended the place to you, he might buy me a drink then

No, seriously, it was very nice, bit hotter than I usually go for but enjoyed it. Nice friendly staff too.
Will give them praise on trip advisor.

:heat: Man up you pussy!!
I've been going there for years and can honestly say I've never had a bad meal, roll on next Friday.
