Anyone know where this belongs?

I discovered this loose underneath the engine sat on the undertray whilst doing a mini detail on the engine bay yesterday, it has the part number 17.11-1 436 245, does anybody recognise this so that I can put it back?

I suppose if its always possible that it doesn't belong to my car, I can't seem to find a home for it.

I think its a lower mounting part that sits below the radiator but I've only got that from realoem.com

Many thanks Z4MO, that does look like the part, just got to work out how to refit it.

Do you think its a bumper-off job?, I'm not too worried if it is as I've got a fog light with condensation that I want to sort (I assume you need to remove the bumper to get the fog light off the car?)

Tony

You don't need to take the bumper off to remove the fogs, but it's a lot easier than working through the access panel in the wheel arch... And it only takes 10mins to take it off. Can't help with the radiator fitting, but I'd guess if you don't take the bumper off you'd need to get the front in the air and take the undertray off... By which time you've removed half the bolts for the bumper anyway IIRC.

Just a little feedback to say thanks to those that helped & that the errant part is now back in place, it fits right along the bottom edge of the radiator, typically over-engineered part & only appears to be there to close off a small gap between the undertray & rad.

Re the misted up fog, my nearside one is shot & I don't have the patience to take it to bits to refurb, the offside has been replaced before as it is datestamped 2009, the nearside would seem to be the original one, both are made by AL, I understand that Bosch also supply OEM & are maybe of a better quality perhaps.

Has anyone any experience of the facelift foglight that ECP list?, is it OEM or a knock-off, it's only £15 cheaper than OEM from a stealer but that's nearly a 1/3rd towards my next mod - a ZHP gear knob.

Also, I've noticed that the underside trim (where the external air temp sensor is housed) on the nearside immediately in front of the wheel is damaged, does anyone know if this is an expensive item to replace? , if it is I'll attempt some kind of repair.

Tony

I replaced that piece of trim when I fitted an undertray (missing when I bought the car). Can't remember how much it was... I will go check my receipts in a bit
