Anyone know this car!

Whats the price? If you don't mind sharing. Values are rising so good info, but at the end of the day these are all such small money now if you are happy with what you're getting for the money, that's what matters

Did you go for it? It’s on Autotrader. Paint looks better now

Either that price is WILD or I’m out of touch with the values of these cars

Car in that as looks lovely, but price??!!
As said,looks very steep.
Seen plenty of similar mileage 06/07 facelift 3.0si cars for not much more.

Waiting for my contact at BMW to find out more Re the mileage discrepancy, but with whole crazy Covid situation all’s been slowed down! 🤞

The price is an interesting one, 3.0 prices seem to be all over the place, why what you think it is worth considering the mileage (If its genuine!) and colour?

Overpriced IMO. You could get a much better spec Z for £6000

Agree specs not great, though the two things I’d want would be heated seats and multi function steering wheel, which you can retro-fit, I think 🤔

Wow, thats £2.5k over priced compared to similar cars I've looked at. Good mileage though.

3.5k ? Not seen many 3.0 Z4s at that price?

There are four on Ebay at the moment for less than £3.5k but admittedly they do have more miles on them than the red one.

Which then brings it closer to a £7K car, seems expensive for what it is, but it’s your money and your choice at the end of the day

As others have suggested,commando_rob.....
For 6k I would be wanting a facelift 3.0si on an 06/07 reg, with around 60k miles on them.

Although it has not got a huge spec, for the mileage, and assuming the condition is okay/decent,and mileage/service is upto scratch (other than potential mileage discrepancy, which may be incorrect info??), Then I'd say around 4k, to £4.5k tops.

So at least £1500 overpriced.
As said, there are similar age 3.0i cars for around 3.5k, albeit with higher miles.

That's my thoughts.

Cheers for all the replies guys 👌

You’ve given me a lot to think about it. Though Is the 3.0si that much better than the 3.0se? Or will I open a can of worms for asking that.

It’s a bit of a stretch to say this is two and a half grand overpriced particularly if it’s in good nick, but if you have £6k to spend you could definitely do better with a bit of patience. Look for a better spec, good service history, more recent plate, newer N52 engine (3.0si), condition, condition, condition. To be fair Helrot will be hard to find, so if that’s what you really want . . .

Just to update, and to warn any potential buyers, went and saw the red Z4! 4 hour round trip!

Sadly the car was a dog needing allot of work, brake pipes had not been replaced and missing cover front to back, snapped front calliper bleed nipples on both sides, has had a rear end at some point paint overspray and spills in boot, and boot lid still damaged and not sitting flush, unbelievable amount of corrosion all around car underneath, inside and out, can only think it’s lived some of it’s life by the sea, very wet drivers side carpets and roof motor very noisey.

One to watch out for all. And one I walked away from. Think I was a little blinded by the thought of a Hel rot Z4 🤦‍♂️

BMW also weren’t able to confirm if the mileage discrepancy was a mistake so may well have been clocked at some point.

Thanks for all the advice.

Wow, a salutary tale Rob. Good job you hadn’t committed to it. First I’ve heard of extensive corrosion problems, these cars seem to be pretty resistant. Mine is similar mileage and no rust at all. As you say, probably lived its life by the sea or left out in the rain and not driven much.

I hope you find a good one.

Well done Rob and thanks for sharing with the forum. Makes the pricing discussion earlier even more pertinent!

The advice on buy on condition not mileage is very much a good point! and it’s very easy to get lost in the train of thought that low mileage = good car! Clearly this is not always the case.
